I was invited to perform at the LA Comedy Festival this year and so far it’s going  superbly… Except for one thing.  They tell me I will not be the only comedian there.  There are more than 8 others all doing funny stuff.  That means, on May 1st, 12st & 17nd I’m going to have to really do well or the audience will know it.

I’m not one to usually shirk work, but  … oh well. Fine.  I’ll do it.  I’ll perform funny comedy.   See you there.

I won the first round of Comedy Cage Match on CBS Mobile. It isn’t that my comedy was that much better than other comedians, just that people love my comedy more. People voted and I won! Thank you, people.

Two comedians compete head-to-head performing 60seconds each of standup. That standup is broadcast to 5 or 6 mobile phones all around the country. Then, one of those mobile phone owners votes for me.

Hey, I’m gonna be pancake juggling at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival between May 1 & 18. I don’t have my specific schedule of shows, but I know I’ll be doing shows involving comedy and me. Partially guaranteed.

The comedy festival was really fun. I traveled with a bunch of other comedians who I knew through Garage Comedy and we had tons of laughs and love and whatever else is positive. I did a 45 minute set in Caesar’s Court at Caesar’s Palace which was more stage-time than most everyone there. Either they liked me that much or scheduling went all screwy and I got lucky.

Either way, my show went over well. 5 minutes into the show, a drunk guy came up to the stage and started talking to me. Once I realized that he was good natured and ready to have fun, I tore into him. (more…)

I’ll be performing in a strange and surprising live multi-disciplinary theatrical show about the fantasy of a little boy. In order to keep it as realistic as possible, I am of course included in the fantasy. My acting abilities are dreams come true to many tots. Don’t overtly bring children to the show, though. I’m performing at a benefit fair for a magnet school. Performing there last year, I found that this particular magnet attracts noisy disruptive kids which is perfect for my kinda show. I think I’m supposed to do 20-30 minutes of whatever I want. That will include yelling at folks and imagining that childrens laughs are actually sobs. (more…)

The Los Angeles County Fair is the biggest county fair in the world — don’t tell India, or they’ll probably start creating counties. The fair is a fun place for families to go, eat some burgers, watch cows being born and shout “You suck!” at the pancake juggler. It was all in good fun ( is there bad fun? ) as their chorus of descent ricocheted off my hardened ego, echoing back insults which were sharper, more individualized and funnier. (more…)

Saw ‘Brats… the movie’ yesterday and it’s really not that bad for being named #1 worst movie of all time on imdb.com, though I guess if it were #2, I would probably say it’s pretty bad for that ranking. (more…)
